On most tenders we do our own measure and schedule of quantities, so the numbers are ours and we stand behind them. Alongside the price, we submit a full methodology: how the scope will run, what's included, and how long each stage will take. That costs us time on jobs we don't win, but it means the client can see exactly what they're buying, and it makes programming easier for the head contractor. Then, when the job wraps, we ask the site manager, project manager and QS what worked and what didn't. That feedback loop is why the next job runs better than the last.
